Welcome

My name is Jennifer Vaillant and I am a hairwork maker, researcher and writer dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of hairwork. I specialize in palette work (also called flatwork). Alongside my artistic practice, I research the history of hairwork and seek to preserve and share this forgotten craft through my writing (see The Maison Vaillant Journal, here). I create Victorian style as well as contemporary frames and jewelry pieces using historical techniques.

I work with both human and animal hair, as well as your departed pets' ashes, teeth, claws and whiskers.

You may find a portfolio of some of my previous hairwork commissions as well as creations on this website.

Do not hesitate to head to the Contact page in order to get in touch, if you have any questions or requests.

May you wish to immortalize a special moment of your life (wedding,...) or keep a loved one always close to you, hairworks and ashesworks are the perfect sentimental and meaningful keepsakes.
